about

With an aural DNA of alternative, shoegaze, and rock, “Roam In My Head” taps into subconscious patterns, where songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist Nicholas McGowan pulls back the curtain on his own personal growth as a person. For Luxury Deathtrap, the evolution of its members is as front-and-center as its evolution as a collective creative unit. McGowan states, “Roam In My Head” is about a destructive internal dialogue and the connections you have with people who influence those thought patterns.

With longtime bandmate and bassist Amanda Stahle now joined by recent drummer recruit Rich Otero (Have a Nice Life), “Roam In My Head” has become a favorite of the Luxury Deathtrap live show, a pure sensory assault with plenty of dynamism to keep listeners engaged.

lyrics

Lately I’ve been thinking how this world nurtures you to fade
Is your hair next to mine
How this world (and)
The hate that it all brings
Can’t let you roam in my head
No
I need you more
I need you
Your cure is everything
The times I’m not here
Is something wrong?
The way you move
Tells me everything
Lately I’ve been thinking how this world pushes you to fade
Is your hand next to mine?
How this world (and)
The hate that it all brings
I can’t let you roam in my head
There’s no room in my head
No
I need you more
I need you
Your cure is everything
The times I’m not here
Is something wrong?
The way you move
Tells me everything
That it's too late for conversation
You think that I don’t get it
You think that I can't see
You’d rather watch me fall
Than prove you wrong
Too late for conversation
